COMMAND OF FASTING IN ISLAM
O you who believe! Fasting has been made obligatory on you, As it was made obligatory on those who were before you, so that you may become pious Who were those before us upon whom it was made obligatory? Christians or Jews? they don't fast this way It has been made halal for you to have intercourse with your wives in the night of fasting. they are clothes for you and you are clothes for them, wear it as you want Because Allah came to know that you used to do all this secretly So He forgave you and made it lawful for you Ya Allah, why is it always about sex? Don't you know that not everyone is married or has a slave to fulfill desires? and what type of judgement is this? Seeing that he was committing a crime, you forgave the crime and justified it as well? Were you afraid that people would leave your religion? So now you have intercourse (at night) And call upon what Allah has written for you, And eat and drink, until the white stripe of the morning becomes clear to you from the black stripe of the night. Then complete the fast till the night (i.e. till the sun sets). And do not cohabit with them while you are in the mosques in I'tikaaf. These are the limits of Allah, so don't go near them. Here's it is permitted to eat, drink and have sex at night But it is not clear whether to eat or drink during the day. it it? or it has this been cleared somewhere which has been hidden? Is fasting really not eating or drinking for the whole day? Today we will try to understand very carefully that where did Ramadan come from And what did it mean and how and why it was copied in Islam.
CHAPTER 2 – ANCIENT STORY OF MOON LOST
Ramdan is 9th month of Islamic calender Muslims take it as month of mercy and sacrifices Verse 185 of Saurah Bakra says that the verses of Quran had begun to reveal in this month In this verse, Allah has ordered to keep Ramadan during this month But is this Ramadan from Allah only? or is it something else ? so let's come and try to find out answer to this question in the history and then we will expose the mercifulness of ramdhan ahead in video. Just 20 km away from Syria's northern border Harran is a place in Southeastern Turkey about 4000 years ago the Sumerians Merchants laid the foundation of this city. soon Harran became a commercial and a religious center of the Mesopotamian Civilization Harranians were polytheists.. the gods they worshiped sin was one of them they used to call him moon god they built up a temple of moon god which used to be called Ekhulkhul, which means temple of rejoicing. after hot day of summer , they used to get relax from cool evening and light of moon. so the importance of moon god was much higher than other gods. even the sun god "Shamash" used to be consider the as son of Moon god. Ningal was the wife of Moon god. According to the Mythological stories of Harran ,once moon got disappeared in sky in the month of March people suspected that moon would had gone and deliberately hidden in pleiados stars cluster. people of harran kept praying to moon god for many days, but it did not come back. finally, to make moon god happy and return, people of Harran started fasting. days passed on Hard work paid off. after one of fasting, moon was seen in another nearby area named Deyr Kadi. The happiness of the people of Harran knew no bounds. they welcomed moon with lot of pump and show later this event turn into an annual celebration. the day when moon returned, became a special festival of people. now pay attention, they used to call it Al Feter The foundation of Eid Ul Fitr and Ramadan of Islam was laid here.
CHAPTER 3 HOW RAMDAN REACHED TO ARAB
in 553 BC, Neo Babylonian king Nabonidus, with the intention of conquering and establishing a government in Arab areas started a Military campaign . Nabonidus was born in Harran. and he was a great devotee of moon god sin in the Arab region one after other he achieved many victories. he came and started to live in place called "Tayma" where he spent 10 years. when he returned after 10 years and reached Haran, he got the renovation done for the EkhulKhul Temple. one the areas he won was Yathrib, which means today's Madina. Along with Nabonidus, Culture, customs and festivals of Harran also came in these areas. Al feter festival too. you can understand the importance of moon god by the fact that in the hail region of Arab, inscription of time of Nabonidus are found. on basalt stones Moon God "Sin" with Nabonidas, Sun God "Shamash" and Venus Goddess "Ishtar"'s Symbols are engraved. Nabonidus has always been shown near the crescent moon (i.e near the Moon God) This way we can observe the roots of Hilal (Islamic Crescent Moon) to be connected with Harranians. The harranians we are talking here about are also called "Sabians" In the verses of Quran, Sabians are mentioned as equivalent of Christians and Jews. But Quran is not clear about which "Sabians" it refers because Harranians were Polytheist. And apart from them also there were some Pagan communities which historians identify as "Sabians". A monotheistic community Mandeans is also counted as "Sabians" The holy book of mandeans was "Ginza Rabba", they used to fast which is called "Sauma" during the sauma, they used to keep away from sins and used to try to be pure and spiritual. we can observe a similar word "Sawm" in Islam mandeans used to celebrated night of 6th of first month of new year as night of power they believed that the gates of heaven of "Abatur" are opened at this night. "Abator" is a religions figure of mandeaism During the Ramadan of Islam also we observe a night of power which is called "Laylat-ul-Qadr" and yes, it is written in a hadith of bukhari that gates of heaven are opened during this month. Hazrat Muhammad or those who created Islam copied many religious practices of the "Sabanians" it is known from ibne Hiham that people used to call Muhammad a liar "Sabian". which you can understand better from my series "The Muhammad" on this website.
CHAPTER 4 HOW RAMADAN ADOPTED BY ISLAM
Ibn Nadim (Muslim bibliographer and biographer of Baghdad during the Abbasid Caliphate) In his Kitab al-Fihrist (Book- al-Fihrist), he states that the Harranians fasted for 30 days for their moon god Sin. Ibn Nadim has also told the their Eid festival and their sacrifices for their moon god. Ibn Abi Zinad also talks about fasting for 30 days by the Harranians. Ibn al-Jawzi also talks about the fasting of the Harranis in this month. He also talks about the tradition of giving money to the poor and sacrificing animals after their fast. Ibn al-Nadim and al-Shaharstani write about an Indian sect, the Jandrikinieh. Those who used to start their fast on new moon day, then their fast would end on full moon day. And he used to have a huge religious feast on the full moon The fasting of Ramdhan was a continuation of same Harranian fasting. When prophet came to Madina, He adopted the religious rituals and customs of the tribes of Aus and Khazraj and gave it color of Islam. They had a religious feast every Friday. Which Muhammad made a holy day of Islam. These two tribes supported the prophet in his wars. It will not be wrong to say that today Islam exists only because of these two tribes. These were the tribes after meeting with whom, the Prophet left Mecca and turned to Medina. And at the same time the verses of fighting and extremism started to reveal in Quran. which you can understand better with my series "The Muhammad" It was only after meeting these tribes that the Prophet copied many of their practices in Islam So that they can see the image of their old religion in Islam too. so they don't have the trouble of leaving their religion, so they don't miss it. like paying 5 times Namaz and performing Wudhu before it. Now there is no need to understand why prayer and fasting were ordered in Madinah. why not in Makkah Now at last let's know such a thing that you can get a big shock to you. in the starting of video , I talked about this verse who talks about food and sex at night But it does not clear whether to eat or drink throughout the day or not. or what to be done, how fast will be completed.. it is not mentioned anywhere, despite of the fact that Ramdan is one of the important pillar of 5 pillars of Islam. actually the Pegans who used to fast for 30 days During that day they used to stay away from food and drink and for the whole month they used to stayed away from sex. along with it , they used to keep quite throughout the day, talking was prohibited. And as we have come to know till now that in Islam, copying anything from outside and change it a bit as per the wish was common just like how sex was allowed at night Similarly, some people also believe that fasting in Islam does not mean that eating and drinking is prohibited. rather just keep quiet And the people who say this also have an argument Which today's scholars can cut only by excuses. So what is the argument, does any verse of the Quran refers that keeping quite is actually a fast Yes, there is one. Which seems to refer that eating and drinking is allowed in Islam. Therefore eat and drink and cool your eyes. Then if you see a man, then say: I have vowed to fast for Rahman. That's why today I will not talk to any human being at all. Here it is permitted to bibi Mariyam to eat and drink, It is asked to just keep quite. Means it was a fast of silence like there is a fast of silence in Hinduism. the sawm word is clearly used in this verse... but it is generally not translated as Fast. Well, whatever Overall we understand That the bricks of the building called Islam derived from Paganism and other forms of Beliefs Now let us see some side effects of this hunger and thirst fast. Chapter 5 Side Effects of Ramdan Ramdhan is said to be the month of blessings. But Islamic countries face it as a bad luck The surprising thing is that most of the accidents happen in the blessed month of Ramdhan. When people fast in the hot summer month then, due to dehydration and low sugar level, the driver's concentration, vision and reaction are affected the most. Medical experts say Due to irregular and unusual eating and sleeping time in Ramdhan with fasting, distraction decomposes and agitation increases in people. Most of the accidents happen on the highways of Mecca and Medina. On the one hand, more pilgrims in the month of Ramdhan, on the other, the people of the city, those who are in a hurry to reach home before Iftar. So this was the report... Let us now look at the accidents that happen due to Ramadan in some Islamic countries only. June 11 2017 Saudi gazette
There were 2,478 emergency calls in Jeddah in the first 10 days of Ramdhan. According to the Red Crescent, majority of the calls were made at the time of Iftar. Saudi Red Crescent Society Jeddah handled 8, 246 cases throughout the month in which there were 1, 342 road accidents and 2, 599 cases of heart attack and sudden illness. Saudi gazette May 23, 2018 On the second day of Ramdhan, 10 Asian (Nepal, India, Bangladesh) laborers working on the palm plantations of Madinah died in an accident. While coming back from Umrah, his bus overturned near Madinah on Friday. 9 people died on the spot other one died before he could reach the hospital , 19 were injured and some critical 22 may 2020 Pakistan International Airlines Flight number 8303 took off from Lahore.
But there was an accident at the time of landing in Karachi lives of 98 people on the plane ends suddenly. An interesting thing came to light in investigation Pilot was fasting for Ramadan. and he did not follow flying procedures set for landing Experts say that due to fasting, low body sugar level can lead to blurred vision and anxiety issues. These things then create obstacles in the way of taking the right decision. After the completion of the investigation, PIA Banned fasting for pilots The circular highlighted the need for proper nutrition for pilots and said that if one has to observe fasting, he should go on leave. This was the condition of Islamic countries.. Momin brothers will show you the articles of intermittent fasting from the internet to explain the benefits of Ramzan. People doing intermittent fasting do not eat food for 12 to 16 hours. but drink waterwhich is not allowed in fasting of Ramdan Lack of water in hot weather can cause kidney related problems. Sometimes old sick people who don't want to , but considering the fact that what will people say Or for fear of losing faith, they keep fast. In Islamic countries like Kuwait, Algeria, Morocco, Malaysia, you can be fined or jailed for eating in public places during Ramadan. And if you did this audacity in Pakistan, then you would get beaten up too. For working people, laborers and farmers, this month is no less than trouble. Not everyone is privileged to have rest during festivals.
Ramadan is even worse for ex-Muslims. Going against their wishes, they have to perform the rituals of Ramzan with their family members. And if the ex-Muslim is from the polar regions of Iceland and Norway, then he should fast for 20-22 hours.
Did Allah not know that the duration of days and night varies in different parts of world? The intensity of hunger and thirst of the rich and the poor is different? It would have been better if Allah had ordered in the month of Ramdhan to feed 30 poor people in the month of Ramdan Or Serve the orphan , sick and the olds Had this been a duty, Muslims would have been spreading so much happiness but now spreading confusion.. Time of Sehri or Time of Iftear which keep changing.. The biggest confusions happen every year regarding Eid when two dates for celebrating Eid come out.
Why such an imperfections in the perfect religion of Allah? that because religions are nothing more than creations of us human. how soon we can realize it, will be that much beneficial for us. It is better Leaving thousands of years old traditions created on the foundation of lies, and search for the Truth .
